| 'IS
THERE BLOOD ON HIS HANDS?' NOMINATED FOR DAVID WATTS PRIZE |
The Sunday
Times magazine has nominated my investigation into whether the
United Nations is guilty of war crimes for the 2007
David Watts prize.
The lengthy article, which is based on my book,'Complicity
with Evil: the United Nations in the Age of Modern Genocide',
examines the UN’s catastrophic responses to the genocides in
Rwanda and Bosnia, and its ongoing failure to stop the slaughter in
Darfur. It examines the doctrine of 'Command Responsibility', which
has been honed by the UN's own war crimes tribunals for Rwanda and
the former Yugoslavia, and asks if the UN itself is guilty of war
crimes for failing to stop the slaughter. |
